Rediscovering Dreams, Finding Community, and Living with Purpose
A Dream I Thought I’d Lost
I’m back after another enlightening trip to Canada.
If you had told me three years ago that I would travel there three times in one year, I would have laughed. It felt impossible. Yet here I am, having fulfilled a dream I’d quietly written off—visiting Vancouver and the Rocky Mountains, a vision I first held at 21 years old.
It felt almost as if I had travelled back in time to whisper to my younger self: this is going to happen. The coincidences along the way have been extraordinary.
Community, But Different
I’ve written before about community, but this time, what struck me was a different aspect: a circle of people who are passionately committed to exploring what it means to be human in today’s world.
Together, we dive into everything—from personal challenges to global issues. We don’t waste time gossiping or reaching premature conclusions. Instead, we look for new perspectives, inspired solutions, and the hope of what we can achieve, both individually and collectively.
We allow ourselves to be messy and vulnerable, without falling into victimhood. It’s a fine line—and a powerful practice.
Learning, Frustration, and Joy
This gathering wasn’t just about ideas—it was practical, too. I found myself learning technical skills like website building, which normally leave me feeling clumsy and impatient.
There were moments where I metaphorically stamped my feet in frustration—yet those same people who witnessed it with gentle amusement also celebrated my joy when I proudly shared even the smallest achievement.
And alongside that came another layer: learning extraordinary healing practices that created visible change right before my eyes—changes I never would have believed possible.
What’s the Point?
For me, this trip was about more than ticking a dream off my list. It reminded me of something deeper:
What if the dreams we carry aren’t frivolous pastimes but subtle hints about the direction we’re meant to take?
What if they’re invitations to step beyond the stories in our heads, or the limitations the world places on us?
Your Turn
Do you have a dream you’ve quietly written off?
What if it’s not gone at all—just waiting for you to pick it up again?
And if you followed it, what could you create, experience, or discover?
