Who I am

I am Julie Tant, an acupuncturist and integrative health practitioner based at 80 Fieldside, Ely, Cambridgeshire, CB6 3AR. I am the data controller for all personal information collected through this website and my clinical practice. You can contact me at tantjulie@hotmail.com or 07956416279.

What information I collect and why

Clinical records When you become a client I collect personal and health information including your name, contact details, date of birth, medical history, medications, lifestyle information and clinical notes. This is collected for the purpose of providing you with safe and effective treatment. This information is special category data under UK GDPR and is treated with the highest level of care and confidentiality.

Website enquiries and newsletter If you contact me through my website or sign up to my newsletter I collect your name and email address in order to respond to your enquiry or send you communications you have requested.

Payments Payment information is processed securely through third party providers. I do not store your card details.

Website analytics My website uses cookies and analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This data is anonymised and used only to improve the website.

How I use your information

I use your information to:

  • Provide you with acupuncture and associated treatments

  • Maintain accurate clinical records

  • Communicate with you about your appointments

  • Send you newsletters and updates if you have opted in

  • Comply with my legal and insurance obligations

I will never sell your personal information or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who I share your information with

I may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With other healthcare professionals involved in your care, with your consent

  • Where required by law, for example in response to a court order

  • With my booking system provider (Acuity Scheduling) and payment processors — these providers are bound by their own privacy policies and GDPR obligations

How long I keep your information

Clinical records are kept for a minimum of seven years after your last appointment, in line with UK professional guidance and my insurance requirements. Records relating to clients who were minors at the time of treatment are kept until they reach the age of 25.

Newsletter and contact data is kept for as long as you remain subscribed or in contact with me.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data (subject to my legal retention obligations)

  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

  • Make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
